ABOUT US

The Crandall Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1949 with a few dedicated men and a used Ahrens-Fox fire engine purchased from the Dallas Fire Department.  Whenever an alarm was recieved, someone had to run to the old fire station (the quonset hut located at Main and Gleason) and set off the civil defense siren and hope there was someone within earshot of the siren to answer the emergency!
